It is the other type of fat and is not essential for normal functioning of human body. Men and women can store equal amounts of storage fat. It is normally stored underneath of human skin, in certain areas in human body and in adipose tissues.  Although some storage fat is necessary to protect body organs from injury, but most of storage fat is considered extra or unnecessary body fat. Storage fat is the fat people want to lose in order to lose body weight.

What Causes Accumulation of fat?

It is a fact that human body needs some good fats. Human body needs unsaturated fat which is mostly present in nature.  There are many factors which cause accumulation of storage (bad fat) in the body.

  • Eating too many calories than your body needs causes fat deposition in your body
  • Eating foods that are very high in calories and saturated fats also contribute in fat deposition.
  • Burning less or no calories is a major factor in fat deposition
  • Having very low or no physical activity is another important factor in the accumulation of storage fat
  • Eating too many carbohydrates also contribute in fat deposition in adipose tissues
  • Processed carbohydrates contain high amounts of saturated fats, and they increase fat storage in the body
  • Consuming too much fast food is another contributing factor in the fat deposition process
  • Slow bowl movements also increases fat stores in the body
  • Having some diseases like tension, depression, psychic problems  may also cause fat deposition
  • Taking certain medicines also increase fat storage in the body like: birth control pills, hormone therapies, steroids, beta blockers and breast cancer medicines.
